J.B. VAN HOLLEN
ATTORNEY GENERAL
Mike Myszewski Named Administrator of the Division of Criminal Investigation
On March 5, it was my great privilege to name Mike Myszewski as the
Administrator of the Division of Criminal Investigation. Mike is a long
time Wisconsin law enforcement professional who shares my philosophy that law
enforcement is a collaborative enterprise, best accomplished by working
together. Under Mike’s leadership, the Division of Criminal Investigation
will not change its core mission to provide assistance to local law enforcement.
We will, however, continuously strive to do it better.
Mike has a
diverse and distinguished career in Wisconsin law enforcement. He has a
comprehensive understanding of and appreciation for the demanding, dangerous,
but rewarding work that law enforcement officers do every day. Mike
started his career as a police officer with the Milwaukee Police Department in
1976. After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Mike joined the Department of Justice in 1982 as a Special
Agent in what was then known as the Narcotics and Vice Bureau. In that
assignment, Mike was on the front lines, working undercover operations and
executing search warrants. In 1989, Mike became a Special Agent in DCI’s
White Collar Crimes Bureau, focusing on public corruption. In 1997, Mike
was promoted to a Special Agent in Charge of the High Technology & Support
Services Unit of DCI. In 2003, he was promoted to Director of the
Narcotics Bureau, the largest investigative bureau within DCI. I am happy
to now promote him to Administrator of the Division of Criminal Investigation.
As
important to me as his impressive resume is Mike’s impressive character.
In my many interactions with Mike, I have found him to be a professional of the
highest integrity. He is committed to doing his job well, fairly and
honestly.
I look
forward to working with Mike to better accomplish our mutual public safety
mission. I know he is excited to work with and assist you in his new
capacity, as he has done for the last 25 years as a Special Agent, Special Agent
in Charge, and Director.
