The Wisconsin Victim Resource Center provides the following statewide services to victims of crime:

♦ Telephone counseling;
♦ Information and referrals for crime victims who are experiencing problems;
♦ Problem-solving assistance relative to the victimization;
♦ Victim/Witness assistance services in matters the Attorney General's Office is prosecuting and no other services are available;
♦ Resource person to district attorneys in counties with no victim/witness programs;
♦ Informational materials on topics such as sexual assault, child sexual abuse and victims' rights in Wisconsin;
♦ An advocate for victims in exercising their victims' rights, including informal mediation;
Crime Victim Compensation assistance; and
Victim Appellate Notification Services (VANS)

The Victims' Rights Amendment (State of Wisconsin Constitution, Article I Section 9m) provides certain rights to crime victims. The Department of Justice and the Wisconsin Victim Resource Center are committed to the full realization of these rights.
