Michael Myszewski, Administrator
|
Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen appointed Mike Myszewski to the position of Administrator of the Division of Criminal Investigation in March 2008. Mike's law enforcement experience started in 1976, when he became a police officer with the Milwaukee Police Department. After finishing his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Myszewski joined the Department of Justice in 1982 as a Special Agent of what was then known as the Narcotics and Vice Bureau. In 1989, Myszewski became a Special Agent in DCI's White Collar Crimes Bureau. In 1997, Mike became a supervisor within the Department of Justice after being named a Special Agent in Charge of the High Technology
& Support Services Unit. In 2003, Myszewski was promoted to Director of the Narcotics Bureau, the largest investigative bureau within DCI. Myszewski served as acting Administrator of DCI from January 3, 2008 until his permanent appointment. As Director of the Narcotics Bureau, Myszewski directed agents in the largest drug and asset seizures in state history. Myszewski supervised the operations of DCI's six regional field offices (located in Appleton, Eau Claire, Madison, Milwaukee, Superior, and Wausau), as well as coordinated DOJ's participation in multi-agency operations, such as the Lake Winnebago Area MEG Unit and the Milwaukee HIDTA.
