Division of Management Services

Cindy O'Donnell, Administrator • Biography

Bureau of Computing Services

The Bureau of Computing Services is divided into four sections.

The Applications Development section is responsible for developing, implementing and supporting many of the applications used within, or owned by the Department.

The Customer Service section is responsible for providing most desktop support to Department staff located within the Justice Center, the three Crime Labs, and the Criminal Investigation remote sites. The Customer Service section also shares responsibility for providing phone support to the Department with the TIME System Control Center staff. In addition they take the lead in major deployments of systems or equipment.

The Technical Services section is responsible for the design, implementation, support and security of the Department's IT infrastructure. This includes hardware platforms, operating systems and networks. They share advanced desktop support responsibility with Customer Service and also participate in major deployments of systems and equipment. The Technical Services section plays a lead role in the research analysis of new technology.

The TIME System Control Center (TSCC) is the computer operations section for the WI Department of Justice. TSCC got its name from its primary responsibility, providing support for the TIME System, which is an information exchange and data repository for Law Enforcement. TIME stands for Transaction Information for the Management of Enforcement. In addition to providing traditional computer operations support for the departments client servers, applications and data networks 24x7x365 with eleven staff. TSCC staffs maintain a Help Desk for Law Enforcement and a separate Help Desk for department desktop support. Staffs provide expertise to Law Enforcement agencies on data network policies, network installations, TIME applications and desktop maintenance support; some key services provided for DOJ Help Desk support are PC and printer hardware troubleshooting, password resets, MS Office troubleshooting and coordination of desktop maintenance repairs.
