ABOUT THE
AG
What
does the Attorney General do?
The Attorney General is
in charge of the Department of Justice. Some people call the
Attorney General the state's "Top Cop." I work hard
to make sure that you have safe schools and neighborhoods. I
also have many investigators working for me. They are my eyes
and ears so I know what needs to be done to help protect people
or catch criminals.
As the Attorney General,
I also have a lot of lawyers who work for me. They go to court
to protect the environment against pollution or help convict
people who commit crimes. The Department of Justice's lawyers
also answer legal questions that other state officials might
have. We work with other state agencies to make Wisconsin a clean
and safe place to live.
